Have you seen any successful religious leader who is not nice? Have you seen any successful marketing executive who is not nice? Can you become successful leader of the people if you are not nice to them?
In fact niceness is the biggest success tool in any field and its power is yet to be understood fully. How amazing!
It is also true that crime and ruthlessness also pay now and then. But these persons are mostly paid back in the same coin. The life of the criminals or mafia bosses is generally short. They use bullets to frighten or rule others and they are themselves killed by the same bullets some day.
On the other hand most of the nice persons are more contented and live a full span of life. Mahatma Gandhi said that only a brave person can be non-violent and nice. The mighty English successfully eliminated the violent forces opposing their rule in India. But they were unable to face non-violent Gandhi and his friends or followers. Violent people just destroy but peace-loving people with a strong will build businesses, empires or civilisations.
Have you talked or met with the most successful business tycoon Bill Gates? He is one of the nicest persons in the world. It can be scientifically proved that arrogance and violence are the enemy of progress.
In real life people like Arnold Schwarzenegger (Hollywood super star) or Amitabh Bachchan (Bollywood superstar) are very nice people. Do you think your proud and quarrelsome neighbour will ever make much progress in life. Hardly.
You eliminate only those germs who are violent and dangerous for your life. Will you try to kill a mosquito if it does not attack you or suck your blood?
In modern world only those companies are progressing fast who are nice to their employees as well as customers.
Company of a businessman was in grave financial trouble. He hired a new manager who suggested a few solutions to bring the company out of the trouble:
1. Not to pay any bonus to the employees that year to save money.
2. Expel at least 25% employees to reduce financial burden on the company
3. Impose charges for the facilities the company was providing to get more finance
4. Introduce a new incentive package to motivate the employees to work harder.
He told that although most of the companies would opt for the first three methods which were more luring and seemed to reduce the economic burden of the company. But he also clarified that he would go for the fourth solution although at first sight it seemed that it would cause more financial burden on the stumbling company.
The manager was given the green signal. Instead of becoming ruthless towards the workforce the manager wanted to be more nice and cooperative. The result: 20% increase in the production of the company. The employees had become more enthusiastic and hard-working. They did whatever they could to push the company to the road of progress. And the company got out of financial crisis.
If you just become merciless to the employees of your company you just de-motivate them. To save some money you lose more.
A farmer was hitting a calf to make it go out of his field. But the stubborn calf was not buzzing. A passer-by saw it and caressed the head, neck and mouth of the calf. The calf meekly came out of the field with him.
By showing niceness Gautam Buddha or Jesus Christ made millions of followers who were reedy to die for them. A violent person always lives in fear of death. He rarely enjoys food, sex or other aspects of life. Even if he progresses with hook or crook it is mostly short-lived.
So learn the new mantra of success: be nice to everybody and move ahead with new ideas and will-power.
